Dentsu Nigeria and its top managers clinched five awards at the 2022 edition of the Women in Marketing and Communications Conference/Awards.

This was contained in a statement to commemorate the 2022 International Day of the Girl Child by Dentsu Nigeria’s Corporate Communications Manager, Sodiq Oyeleke, on Thursday.

 During the award ceremony, Dentsu Nigeria bagged the Award for the Best Marketing Communications Group in Gender Inclusion.

Managing Director of Posterscope and IproViz (formerly Vizeum), Yetunde Adegbite, was named among the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Marketing and Communications in Nigeria.

The General Manager of Amplifi System and Story lab Nigeria, Marian Ogaziechi, also made the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Marketing and Communications in Nigeria.

Also, dentsu X Nigeria’s General Manager, Adekemi Alegbeleye, emerged as the Most Outstanding Media Independent Professional of the Year while the Chief Operating Officer of DENTSU CREATIVE Nigeria, Funke Adekola, won the award for the Most Outstanding Female Creative Advertising Professional of the Year.

Group Chief Executive Officer of MediaFuse-Dentsu, Emeka Chris Okeke, said the company would continue to ensure equity and competence in its appointments.

According to Emeka, Dentsu Nigeria remains one of the few advertising networks in the country with over 70 per cent of leadership positions occupied by women.

The Integrated Marketing Communications expert noted, “At dentsu, we drive systemic change for a future where we have a fair and equitable workplace representing the societies in which we operate.

“Awards like these reflect the positive changes our employee networks have achieved across our businesses and society. We will continue to foster a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive because of who they are.”

Emeka also expressed delight that the awards were received at a time the world is celebrating the International Day of The Girl Child.

“It’s exciting to mark the International Day of The Girl Child with five awards on gender inclusion,” he added.
