The MTN Foundation has impacted over 500 Nigerian communities, through its What Can We Do Together campaign. The initiative seeks to improve the quality of life among communities by providing much needed amenities to communities nominated by the public.

Here are things you should know about the MTN Foundation “WCWDT initiative:

Fostering grassroots community development: By providing primary health care facilities, household goods, and educational resources throughout 586 communities and 530 LGAs, the WCWDT initiative has helped to promote grassroots community development.
Medical equipment donations: The MTN Foundation has given medical supplies to 132 Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs) across the nation, enhancing the standard of healthcare services that are made available to communities.
Provision of boreholes: The initiative has provided 650ft boreholes in 40 communities, ensuring the availability of potable water.
Improved power supply: The initiative has provided 500KVA transformers in 40 communities, thus improving power supply to communities.
Improved learning environment: The campaign has provided school furniture sets to 174 schools, improving the learning environment for pupils.
Provision of household items: Through WCWDT, MTN Foundation has provided household supplies and equipment to 66 orphanages in different communities in Nigeria.
Installation of ICT laboratories: The initiative has facilitated the installment of ICT labs in 39 public secondary schools around the nation, giving students and instructors access to online learning materials.

Collaboration with relevant agencies: The MTN Foundation, through this initiative, has collaborated with relevant agencies such as the NCDC and NPHCDA in the implementation of its projects, thus ensuring the sustainability of its impact.
Policy advocacy: MTN Foundation’s involvement in improving the quality of lives of many, has influenced their role as a voice for the people. They have worked in solving both social and economic problems of the society.

As the fifth phase of the WCWDT campaign commences, MTN Foundation is calling on well-meaning Nigerians to nominate communities to receive upgraded Primary Healthcare Centers. To nominate a community, nominators are required to text MTN to 421, and respond to subsequent questions free of charge (for MTN subscribers) or visit www.mtn.ng/wcwdt to get started.
