Dr. Onyekachi Onubogu is a Fellow and Council Member of National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIM). He is an alumnus of both the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, U.S.A and Gordons Institute of Business Sciences, University of Pretoria South Africa. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from University of Jos Nigeria and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Swiss Business School Zurich Switzerland.

Onyekachi has over two decades of leadership experience in broad multi-functional roles spanning manufacturing, investment capital as well as consumer goods. He is currently the Executive Director Commercial at TGI Group where he is responsible for the Commercial management of all TGI group companies.

He started out in Procter & Gamble, West Africa and South Africa where he had business development, brand manager and marketing manager roles between 1995 to 2005. Afterwards, he joined Guinness Nigeria Plc, where he was responsible for strategic marketing in Nigeria.  He led the marketing manager for the Family Care Division of Kimberly-Clark, South Africa in 2008. Between 2008 and 2010, he was appointed Associate Director Investment at Prosperity Capital Management, Nairobi, Kenya and was responsible for investment portfolios in East Africa and Anglo-West Africa. Onyekachi had the role of Executive Director Commercial at Promasidor Nigeria from 2013 to 2017. Prior to his appointment as Executive Director he was Marketing Director leading commercial strategy and brand asset management.

Ini (Onuk) Abimbola, Panelist

Ini Abimbola is a business leader with over 22 years’ experience working in the international development space with broad consulting experience & expertise on Corporate Governance, Management Consulting, Sustainability, Development Communications, and Strategy.

Ini is the Founder and was the first Lead Consultant/CEO of ThistlePraxis Consulting Limited (TPC), a management consulting, sustainability, strategy, and business advisory firm she founded in 2010, which provides strategy development, Sustainability management, process improvement, organizational transformation, risk governance, performance management, programme management, and advisory services.

Ini also serves as Country & Regional Lead (Sub Saharan Africa) for The CSR Company, a global CSR Network of organizations spanning four continents – South East Asia, Europe, the Middle East & Africa. She is a Lecturer/Member of Faculty, MBA Program on International Corporate Social Responsibility Management at the Ferdinand Porsche FernFH – University of Applied Sciences, Austria.

Before setting up ThistlePraxis Consulting, Ini served as Executive Director of Women in Management & Business (WIMBIZ) as Executive Secretary, where she not only helped revitalise the organization but also moved membership from about 100 members to over 350 members. Ini also created the mentoring program, the corporate governance program for SMEs as well as ensuring the organization joined global platforms such as the Vital Voices and the African Women Business Network, receiving over $200,000 in grants to further enhance its operations in Nigeria.

Ini also served as the pioneer Executive Director, Defence for Children International – Nigeria Section; as a Consultant with the Women, Gender and Development Directorate of the African Union, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as well as the African Centre for Gender & Development within the UN Economic Commission, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

She guides boards, executives, governance, risk and sustainability practitioners toward social, environmental, and economic innovations that also create shareholder and business value. She has facilitated high-level board retreats and trained C-suite executives both within the private and public sectors.

A 2008 Draper Hills Fellow on Democracy, Development & Rule of Law at Stanford University California and an alumnus of the Harvard Business School Executive Education Program, Ini also earned a Diploma & Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Calabar. She is currently completing a Business degree at Nexford University.

Ken Egbas, Panelist

He has enjoyed a career spanning the last sixteen years in the marketing communications, PR and sustainability industry. A period within which he founded WhiteHousePR (Formerly TruContact), and TruCSR Nigeria- A CSR and Sustainability focused  consultancy in 2006. He has worked as consultant to several A-list organisations, as well as SME’s within Nigeria, and Africa . He is considered one of Nigeria’s thought leaders in CSR/ Sustainability.

He is the founder of The SERAS CSR Awards Africa-, which is the prime recognition in Africa for recognising the impacts of organisations through their CSR and sustainability interventions. This has become a key driver for CSR and sustainability in Africa. The Awards entered its 14 cycle in 2020.

He was recognised and listed in Assent Global’ 2018 Top 100 Influence Leaders in CSR and Sustainability. He is a highly sought speaker, trainer and a respected voice on issues bothering on sustainability, marketing, communications, economy and politics.

In 2014, we was appointed as Special Adviser, on Strategic Planning by the government of Cross River State, Nigeria, under the leadership of Senator Liyel Imoke, who was then the governor of Cross River State.

In September 2019, he was speaker at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), where he was invited to showcase best practices from the CSR/Sustainability space in Africa to global political and industry leaders.  He was also presiding judge at the UNGA SDG Pioneers Awards organised by Journalists and Writers Foundation (JWF), featuring participation from 110 countries from around the world.

He is publisher of The Social Enterprise Report (TSER), and The Good Magazine (TGM), both dedicated to highlighting and promoting CSR and Sustainability in Nigeria.

He holds a degree in public relations, and post graduate degree in marketing from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and also master’s degree in marketing communications from School of Media and Communications, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos.

Nduneche Ezurike, Panelist

I currently serve as Group Head – Brand and Marketing Communications at Polaris Bank Nigeria, where I lead the bank’s on-going brand transformation aspiration of becoming a future-determining bank focused on enabling enterprise.

As a Marketing Communications Specialist, I have acquired over 15 years of experience working with teams in emerging and mature brands. Consequently, I have honed my skills in the banking and communications consulting sectors, enabling me to deliver on results critical to the enterprise business strategy.

Oluwasoromidayo George
