First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited has confirmed the appointment of Yemisi Edun as the substantive Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the bank. Mrs. Edun replaced Mr. Adam Nuru. The Board of Directors thanked Mr Nuru for his years of dedicated service to the bank, and wished him all the best in his future endeavors. Mrs Edun was first appointed in January 2021. She was the former Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of the bank. She began her career with Akintola Williams Deloitte (member firm of Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu) in 1987. Her work involved in-audit of banks and other financial institutions. She joined FCMB in 2000 as Divisional Head of Internal Audit and Control, and later, became the Chief Financial Officer of the Bank.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife and a Master’s degree in international accounting and finance from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor. She is also a Member of Information Systems Audit and Control, U.S.A; and an Associate Members of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and the Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
