IPG has named Donnalyn Smith as Momentum Worldwide’s new Global CEO. She succeeds Chris Weil.

Smith, who joined the agency in 1995, was previously president of Momentum North America. Weil, a 20-year agency vet, will remain as chairman until year-end and then transition into a consultant role through 2023.

Philippe Krakowsky, CEO of Interpublic Group, said: “The company’s pioneering performance in the space is thanks, in large part, to Chris’s leadership of the organization and his commitment to bringing creativity to the experiential space.

“We’re fortunate that Donnalyn has been an integral part of that journey and that the agency has such strong teams serving its roster of clients.”

Momentum has been lauded as an experiential agency, winning the 2019 Cannes Lions Grand Prix for the agency’s “Just Do It HQ At The Church” experience for Nike.

Client work includes Verizon, Nike, Walmart and General Motors.
